Geotechnical Investigation Report
J001369-001-R-Rev0 August 2021 1.0 INTRODUCTION As requested by RG Strategic, Core Consultants Pty Ltd (Core) has carried out a geotechnical investigation for a proposed development at 23 Bottlebrush Avenue, Noosa Heads. Presented in this report are the investigation results together with a qualitative slope stability assessment and comments regarding: ▪ Site preparation and trafficability. ▪ Filling and compaction. ▪ Excavatability and temporary excavation support. ▪ Foundation design and parameters. ▪ Retaining wall design parameters. ▪ Drainage and general foundation maintenance. 2.0 PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT Preliminary concept drawings were provided by the client (refer Drawing No. A202, dated 13 July 2021). Based on these drawings we understand the proposed development will comprise a three-level apartment development with a single-level basement and associated driveway, visitor carparking, courtyard and pool. It is anticipated that earthworks will generally include cuts of between 2 m and 5 m depth and minor filling to form finished surface levels. 3.0 SITE DESCRIPTION The site is described as Lot 140 of RP88934 and covers an area of about 506 m2. The site is bounded by Bottlebrush Avenue to the south-west and residential units and houses elsewhere. At the time of our investigation there was an existing brick dwelling with an associated concrete driveway and footpath. The dwelling was generally surrounded by scattered large trees and vegetation. Further details regarding site conditions are given in Section 5.0. The site generally slopes down to the south-west between about 10° and 12°, with the lower portion and driveway steeper at about 18°. Available survey drawings (refer Drawing No. 12831-DTM-01, dated 25 March 2021) generally confirms the on-site slope measurements. Elevation levels across the site ranged from between RL 37 m and RL 31 m. Image 1 below shows an extract of the abovementioned survey drawing. Photographs 1 to 3 show the general site conditions at the time of our investigation. Image 1: Extract from survey drawings 12831-DTM-01 (dated 25 March 2021). 4
