4    RECOMMENDATIONS

If the farm is approved we recommend (based on the odour assessment by MWA) that:

   the farm be designed and operated in line with Queensland guidelines for meat chicken farms
    (DAFF, 2012) or other more recent best practice standards
   the maximum number of birds on site be limited to 230,000 birds in 8 sheds
   the maximum stocking density on site be limited to 16.75 birds/m2
   the K factor (emissions rating) be maintained at or below K = 2.2.
