EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This report outlines the process for the development of the New Noosa Plan and specifically the
outcomes of the two public notification and community engagement processes undertaken on the
draft Noosa Plan during 2019. It provides an overview of the public submission and notification
processes and summarises suggested changes in response to submissions. This report also
recommends Council endorsement of the final Noosa Plan 2020, Planning Scheme Policies and
Local Government Infrastructure Plan and seeks Ministerial approval for adoption.
Subject to Council’s consideration, the final Noosa Plan 2020 will be forwarded to the Minister for
State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning, in accordance with the Notice
made under section 18(3) of the Planning Act 2016, seeking endorsement from the Minister for
adoption by Council.
The recommendations have been grouped into different themes to allow Council to consider these
issues separately if required.
