R3 from AS1055.3-1997). The general noise amenity is dominated by traffic noise from Noosa Drive
(steady traffic noise emissions) and from individual vehicle pass-by (such as public transport buses).

The night-time background noise levels, when Vii/age Bicyc/e cafe was closed, were recorded from
12: 15am to 12:29am on the night between the 2nd and the 3"' of May 2015. The measured
background sound pressure level (Loctoo) in a full octave band with centre frequencies from 63 Hz
to 2000 Hz, on a typical weekend night is presented in Table 2.4.

The night-time background noise levels on the night between the 2nd and the 3"' of May 2015
(Saturday/Sunday) are very high corresponding with average background noise level in areas with
dense transportation or with some commerce or industry (noise area category R4 from AS1055.3-
1997).

This prompted additional site visit and background noise measurements on Tuesday night (9th to 10th
of June 2015). The measured background sound pressure level (Loctoo) in a full octave band with
centre frequencies from 63 Hz to 2000 Hz, on a typical weekday night is presented in Table 2.5.

         LA•• , (Fast) dB{A)

Whilst the weekend night-time noise levels recorded on the night between the 2nd and 3"' of May
2015 are very high (46dB(A», the weekday early morning background noise levels of 35dB(A) are
very low. Neither of the background noise levels measured are suitable for establishment of
representative post 10pm operational noise limit. Therefore, as per approved procedure for similar
noise assessments, typical background noise levels of 40dB(A), representative of noise area
category R3 from AS1055.3-1997, are recommended. The representative background noise levels
for assessment of compliance with the post-10pm (10:00pm to 12:00midnight) operation of Village
Bicyc/e cafe are presented in Table 2.6.
