3, Details of Submission
I (We), make the following submission: that the application made in regard to the abovementioned Material Change of
Use which includes a provision for extended trading hours be refused by the Noosa Council on the grounds that the
extended trading hours will have a negative impact on the area for the following reasons:
• Negative impact on residents and holiday makers in the immediate vicinity from noise of patrons leaving the
establishment late at night. A combination of late closing time and provision of alcohol will greatly increase noise
creation in what is normally a very quiet area,
• Negative impact on residents and holiday makers due to inebriation of patrons of proposed venue, Alcohol will
increase likelihood of unruly behaviour of patrons having a negative impact on Noosaville as a family friendly
holiday destination,
• There no buses to service patrons leaving at such a late hour and very few taxis in the area, When late hours.
service of alcohol and lack of transport opportunities are combined there is increased demonstration of loud.
loutish. poor behaviour by inedbriated patrons,
• "Red Emperor" is a take away fish and chip shop that closes quite early in the evening, People order fish and
chips and generally take them away to eat, whether over on the river bank or at home, There is limited capacity
for "dining in", In my holidays at Munna Beach Apartments (mostly in peak school holiday periods) I don't think I
have ever witnessed 60+ people at this venue, The statement contained in the Planning Application that the
"Red Emperor" regularly has 60+ customers queuing or eating outside during peak periods is simply incorrect.
• The trading hours seem excessive for a family tourist destination. If the venue is to be primarily a
restauranUdining/takeaway a 12am close time is simply not necessary or appropriate.
