                  To Whom It May Concern

                  | am pleased to lend support to an application by Noosa Shire Museum (Cooroora Historical Society Inc.),
which seeks funds from the Noosa Council Heritage Levy for the acquisition of Cooroora Masonic Lodge.
The Cooroora Masonic Lodge was built in 1923 in Station Street Pomona. It was heritage listed in 2003,
recognising the importance of the Masonic murals painted in 1928. If successful, | understand, the Noosa
Shire Museum would use the building as an annex to the existing Museum building in Factory Street. The
lodge would be open to visitors and provide additional space for the Museum's expanding collections.
As a community-owned heritage building the Cooroora Masonic Lodge would significantly add value to
the Pomona and Noosa regional community enhancing Pomona’s reputation for acknowledging the
importance of its built heritage, which provides a unique and attractive drawcard for visitors to the region.
The Cooroora Historical Society Inc which runs the Noosa Shire Museum is a member of Museums
Galleries Australia and as such is committed to best museum practice.
                  | fully support the Noosa Shire Museum in its quest to deliver the Cooroora Masonic Lodge into
community hands and secure the future of this important building.
                  Yours sincerely

                Se wr
