COOROORA MASONIC LODGE
To Whom It May Concern
I am pleased to lend support to an application by Noosa Shire Museum (Cooroora Historical Society Inc.)
which seeks funds from the Noosa Council Heritage Levy for the acquisition of Cooroora Masonic Lodge.
The Cooroora Masonic Lodge was built in 1923 in Station Street Pomona. It was heritage listed in 2003,
recognising the importance of its Masonic murals, painted in 1928.
If successful, I understand that the Noosa Shire Museum would use the building as an annexe to the existing
Museum building in Factory Street, which would be open to visitors and provide much needed additional
space for its growing historical collections.
The addition of the Cooroora Masonic Lodge as a community-owned heritage building would bring great
value to the Pomona and Noosa regional community. Pomona is already recognised for the importance of
its heritage buildings and providing a unique and attractive drawcard for visitors to our region.
I fully support the Noosa Shire Museum in its quest to deliver the Cooroora Masonic Lodge into
community
hands and secure the future of this important building.
Yours sincerely
