1.3 Surrounding Land Uses We live on 2 ha to the north east of this property, within view and at a similar altitude. All of our neighbours are on rural lifestyle blocks with no Intensive Farming. If this Factory Farming goes ahead we will be affected by noise from the exhausts, odour and dust and visually the sheds will be an eyesore on such a beautiful landscape. The noise element is very concerning. The pumps that operate on this property are heard very clearly at night and windows need to be shut to stop the noise invading our peace. We do not farm our land and we purchased here 27 years ago for the peace, tranquility and beauty of the area, which I believe is a gem in the Noosa Shire that is enjoyed by many people on their weekend outings. 1.4 Proposed Development The ventilation fans will definitely impact on residences in the vicinity of the sheds. This is not an industrial area, but an area of lifestyle homes. We clearly hear the pumps on the dams from this property. Regarding odour - we do not feel that we should be subjected to any odour or dust of any kind so that 200,000+ plus chickens can be brutally brought up in cramped conditions and make money for an individual who does not consider his neighbours nor animals in his quest for wealth. 2.0 Noise Impact Assessment The avocado operation makes noise and we hear this and it is invasive. The fans will be making more noise and it will be invasive and intolerable. The operation of forklifts will be a continuous source of noise, let alone the numerous heavy trucks coming and going from the site. 3.0 Odour Impact Assessment Odour of any sort coming from this property will not be tolerated. We as residents in the area should not be subject to smells and I would suggest that Noosa Council be diligent in this matter to ensure that we are not subjected to such negative biproducts of this proposal, including noise, odour, visual impact, and vermin, etc. 4.0 Dust Assessment We, like all our neighbours, are dependent upon the water we collect from our roofs for our household water needs. Toxic shed dust will be deposited into our water tanks. We believe this is totally

unacceptable. What is Noosa Council's intent to ensure the
modelling of this impact on the adjacent properties is correct.
5.0 Top Forestry Road Dust
Heavy vehicles on Top Forestry Road is an absolute danger to all
residents in the area. Just in the last few weeks there are been
reports of heavy vehicle accidents in our hinterland. The roads, all of
them, being Top Forestry, Old Ceylon, Belli Creek Road, Crystal Street
should not be exposed to this traffic. An extra 24 heavy vehicles a
day is dangerous to all road users. These truck drivers are not aware
of the road conditions, gravel, curves, blind curves, up and down. I
for one do not wish to meet these vehicles on Belli Creek Road as I
journey into Cooroy, both day and night. Wear and tear on our roads
from these vehicles is not what I pay my rates for.
6.0 Conclusion
We totally agree that the new information indicates that the
proposed development has the potential to exceed noise, odour and
dust regulatory criteria. Road safety issues has not been addressed.
This application will be a health issue for all the neighbours, whether
it be through noise, dust, odour and traffic fatalities, we must ask
Council to refuse this application.
MCU12/0184 - Traffic Issues
I beg Noosa Council to fully understand that The L&RTraffic
Engineering Report seems to be very flawed and very limited in its
reporting.
I refer to the No Broiler Farm Submission and that this submission be
taken very seriously.
We have had deaths on these roads. This unnecessary traffic that all
residents will be subjected to is criminal and Council should really
investigate the truth of this report.
We ratepayers, all ofthe Noosa Shire, should not be subjected to the
dangers and road safety risks, as well as costs of road maintenance,
that his chook farm will impose upon us.
