Natural environment management

By implementing erosion strategies with minor earthworks (eg swales) and by working on
contour, we aim to improve resilience to climate change and to adhere to the climate
change response plan.

As we have seen in 2022, larger weather events are becoming more common. We need to
ensure the systems on the site are designed to prevent erosion and nutrient run o . By
working on contour (paths and walkways on contour, animal movements on contour etc),
we can ensure minimal erosion. We propose to re-purpose grassed areas to create
market gardens and animal areas to minimise impact on existing vegetation.

Permaculture works within the natural environment and aims to accellerate succession
and evolution. We will always design to improve the natural environment and to make it
permanently productive without interfering negatively with other natural systems.
