2. Provide dimensions of proposed car parks, aisles, access width, etc. that
demonstrate compliance with AS/NZS2890.1:2004 for the relevant user
classes.
The residential units require parking for a class 1A user vehicle. The closest bays are
proposed to include a carport suspended over the bays with the posts to be located so as
not to interfere with the car door openings.
The bin stores are proposed to be relocated closer to the building allowing for a 7.0m wide
aisle width for the class 1A user spaces – compliant with AS/NZS2890.1:2004, as shown
below.
3. Assuming that all car parks are occupied, demonstrate that:
a. cars parked in each of the proposed car parks, can leave the site in a
forward gear through a three point turn maximum;
b. a vehicle unable to find a parking space is able to leave the site in a
forward gear by using a three point turn.
The application for an Other Change to an existing approval with no ability to change the
building or parking location. The parking area is currently located at the end of a Council
parking laneway. The design includes the residential units at the end of the site and
provides for good visibility of all existing visitor parking spaces at the front of the site. The
parking is provided to accommodate the type and intensity of land uses (residential and
commercial), the likely times of use for each space and the availability of alternative
parking consistent with the relevant Performance Outcomes PO6.
