slope stability
Report No: —W3099le. Client Name: M Williams, Report Date: June 29, 2007, Site Address: Lot 8 Eungella Road, Black Mountain, Slope Stability Report, Slope Stability, face-of approximately S000 mimi. This rock face is largely naturally occurring and is generally stable except for the possibility that very minor falls of small quantities of rock may occur from erosion from wind, rain & sunlight. As the site has been filled creating two level pads and the maximum fill depth is likely to be in the order of 2500mm to 3000mm. The fill is reported to be partially controlled and has a high granular content ie, sand, gravel & cobbles, Materials of this nature are generally more stable than clay filled. The batter angle of the fill is approximately 22 degrees which is less than the 26 degrees maximum batter recommended by the Residential Slab & Footings Code AS2870 — 1996, At present the fill is partially controlled and newly formed. There is a brief period where significant heavy rainfall may cause erosion of the fill batter however as grasses and small shrubs grow on the batter the possibility of significant erosion is greatly reduced. Planting of grasses and small shrubs will increase the stability of the filled batters, In general we can conclude the cut & fill platforms are stable however the fill cannot be used to support structural loads and all footings must be founded in the natural soil profiles away from the edge of the fill batters, IN .
