GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 14 MAY 2018
1 Context
The Noosa Shire Council (Council) engaged Place Design Group to prepare the Noosaville Foreshore Land
Use Master Plan (Draft Foreshore Master Plan) inclusive of acommunity engagement and consultation
program.
The first round of community consultation was undertaken in April and May 2017 which included an
intensive four-day engagement program, to gather the views and visions of the Noosa community.
The engagement program included two community pop-up events with an attendance of approximately
300 people, stakeholder and councilor workshops, and an online survey which ran for a month on Council's
website with over 1,200 survey responses. The engagement was highly publicised and well attended both in
person and online. This public consultation provided excellent feedback on the community's ideas and
vision for future land uses on the Noosaville Foreshore. For further details of the first round of community
consultation, refer to the Initial Consultation Summary.
The Draft Noosaville Foreshore Land Use Master Plan was presented to Council in December 2017. Council
resolved to adopt the Draft Plan in January 2018 and proceeded with further community consultation from
22" of January to the 22" of February.
This led to a second more streamlined consultation process to acquire feedback on the Draft Noosaville
Foreshore Land Use Master Plan. This round of community engagement included an in person drop-in
session with Council's consultants on the 8"" of February 2018, as well as online feedback via written
submissions, submitted to Council's online portal.
