12.         FENCES/ GATES

12.1.       GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS
Handrails and Balustrades to be compliant with AS1428

All steelwork to be hot dip galvanised and powder coated as specified in this specification. Each connection
between aluminium and steel must be fully isolated with neoprene washer, plates and sleeves or similar

Sample
Install a minimum 2.5m long sample area of each different balustrade, handrail and fence type showing
materials, surface pattern, colour, finish and joints for approval by the Landscape Architect. If acceptable,
this sample should be retained as a quality benchmark and shall form part of the finished works.

Shop drawings for all nonstandard items need to be provided.


12.2.       FENCE TYPES

 FE01: Fence Type 1 – Solid Colour Bond Fence

 Product – Standard Colorbond Steel Fencing – CS2418-CNF
 Dimensions – 1800mm high x 2400mm long (typical).
 Supplier- Oxworks or approved equivalent
 FE01A – FIXED TO TOP OF CIVIL RETAINING WALL
 FE01B – FIXED TO GROUND
 Material – Genuine Colorbond® Steel
 Sheet Base Metal Thickness - 0.35mm BMT
 Post & Rail Base Metal Thickness - 0.8mm BMT
 Profile – Sawtooth
 Colour – Monument for all components
 Notes – Refer manufacturers recommendation
