State code 8: Coastal The site is located within the Coastal Management District and therefore the
development and tidal works ROL triggers assessment against SDAP 8. The purpose of the code is to
ensure that development is designed and located to:
1. protect life, buildings and infrastructure from the impacts of coastal
erosion;
2. maintain coastal processes;
3. conserve coastal resources;
4. maintain appropriate public use of, and access to and along, state
coastal land;
5. account for the projected impacts of climate change; and
6. avoid impacts on matters of state environmental significance and, where
avoidance is not possible, minimise and mitigate impacts, and provide an
offset for significant residual impacts where appropriate.
Items 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are considered and assessed in Attachment 4 –
Specific Engineering Assessments – Dr T. Johnston/Cardno
Items 2 and 6 are considered and assessed in Attachment 2 – Ecological
