                 T REE P ROTECTION S PECIFICATIONS
                 For the proposed retention of the above trees onsite, the following guidelines are
                 recommended to be implemented to minimise the impact of the Project works. The protection
                 recommendations offered will be guided by AS4790 – 2025 Protection of trees on
                 development sites, industry best practice and the supervising presence of a suitably qualified
                 and experienced Arborist with a high level of experience as an onsite Project Arborist.

                 The successful retention of the trees will be bettered by the education and cooperation of all
                 parties of the construction team during the build, and the presence of the Project Arborist on
                 site to assist and advise during the excavation works carried out within proximity of the trees.

                 ALL workers on the site are to be made aware of the Tree Protection Guidelines and any site-
                 specific measures by the main contractor before commencing works.

                 Due to the nature of the site, standard TPZ fencing is not achievable. The TPF can be erected
                 in a non-standard alignment that may incorporate the public site fencing. These measures will
                 be established between the project and the Project Arborist. Additional caution will be required
                 as the works will be within the TPZ of the trees.

                 Take all necessary precautions, including but not limited to the following:

                 x    Appropriate signage, i.e., ‘Tree Protection Zone’ and ‘No Go Zone’, must be erected at
                      the boundary of the TPZ to prevent vehicles from entering and prevent stockpiling from
                      occurring near retained trees/vegetation.
                 x    No damage is to be caused to tree trunks and bark (i.e., do not attach guides or stays to
                      trees/vegetation) – trunk protection may be used if appropriate.
                 x    No excavation works/open trenching to encroach within the TPZ of retained trees unless
                      under the direct supervision of the Project Arborist.
                 x    Approved excavation works should be undertaken with the machines sat on protected or
                      solid ground away from the tree, and work performed perpendicular to the tree.
                 x    Where necessary to cut roots, this shall be undertaken by the Project Arborist.
                 x    No storage or otherwise placing of spoil, bulk or potentially harmful materials (i.e.,
                      construction refuse, concrete waste, herbicides, diesel, etc.) under or within 1m of TPZs.
                 x    Avoid ground compaction under trees. If compaction occurs (i.e., from site access or the
                      location of a construction plant or vehicle parking), notify the Project Arborist and obtain
                      their instructions.
                 x    Ground Protection: Where construction encroaches into the TPZ of trees to be retained,
                      it shall be necessary to install protection to avoid compaction of the ground surface, lateral
                      and absorbing roots.
                 x    Any damage to trees during work is to be rectified according to AS 4373/96 Pruning of
                      Amenity Trees and best horticultural practices. The Project Arborist is to guide the works.
                 x    Where deemed beneficial, mulch the entire ground surface within the TPZ with Forest
                      Blend Organic Mulch or site mulch to a depth of 100mm and install a temporary irrigation
                      system or manually water to ensure that soil moisture levels are adequately maintained.
