Good morning

I am the owner of 17/45 Duke Street, Sunshine Beach which is directly opposite 2/18 Duke Street, Sunshine Beach.

I wish to strongly object to the above application on the following grounds:


•         I purchased my property some time ago as I was attracted to the peace and quiet of the Sunshine Beach atmosphere and particularly the immediate area around my property at 45 Duke Street, Sunshine Beach. The existing shops and cafes around this immediate area have always operated basically around business hours (i.e. 8 to 5) I object to the request to extend hours at 2/18 Duke Street as it will dramatically impact on the tranquillity of the immediate area.

•         Serving alcohol after 5pm in this area is unacceptable as it will contribute to increased noise and potential vandalism in the immediate area.

•         Available vehicle parking is already scarce and this issue will worsen if this request is approved.
•         Noise problems associated with customers talking loudly and arriving / leaving later into the evening will be unacceptable to residents in the immediate vicinity attempting to relax and sleep at night.
  • Property values in the immediate area will drop if this request is approved.
