Bushfire Hazard Assessment & Management Plan v2 NCES REF: J000542 Lot 9 on RP225312 — 100 Cooyar Street, Noosa Heads 3.3. Potential Bushfire Intensity classes Table 1 details the Potential Bushfire Intensity classes and their corresponding potential fire-line intensity (KW/m) values as prescribed within Leonard et. al. 2017. Table 1: Potential Bushfire Intensity classes i. Very high 40,000+ kW/m 2b High : | 20,000 - 39,999 kW/m 3. Medium 4,000— 19,999 kW/m 3.4 Bushfire Hazard Sub-Units A sub-unit level Local Hazard Area Map has been prepared; Plan No. BFO2 — Sub-Units and identifies the site scale Potential Bushfire Intensity classes across the site. The sub-unit level Local Hazard Area Map identifies that High and Medium Potential Bushfire Intensity Areas associated with the VHC 22.1, 29.2, and 34.5 are located within the northern, southern, and eastern extents of the assessment area. Note, Sub Unit 4 comprises VHC 39.2 — Low to moderate tree cover in built-up areas. VHC 39.2 is classified as Prone Type 3 — Low hazard. As per Section 7.5.2, 7.6 & Figure 14 of Bushfire Resilient Communities 2019, Prone Type 3 VHC’s are not considered bushfire prone VHC’s. Therefore, Sub Unit 4 was mapped as Low Potential Bushfire Intensity class on BFO2. 3.5 Overall Local Hazard Map An overall Local Hazard Map has been prepared; Plan No. BF03 — Local Hazard Map and identifies the Potential Bushfire Intensity classes across the site as well as associated 100m wide Potential Impact Buffer areas. High and Medium Potential Bushfire Intensity Areas are located within the northern, southern, and eastern extents of the assessment area with their associated Potential Impact Buffer impacting the majority of the site precluding the central west site extent. The Local Hazard Map presented in Plan No. BFO3 is to supersede the SPP broadscale mapping attributed to the site and should be used to guide the formulation of appropriate site-based bushfire management measures for the proposal.
