PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 9 MAY 2017

Finance & Risk
Council needs to have amended its current Priority Infrastructure Plan (PIP) to a Local Government
Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) by 30 June 2018 in order to continue issuing infrastructure charges and
impose conditions about trunk infrastructure on development.
Since January 2014 to March 2017, $7,870,536 has been collected in infrastructure charges
equating to a current average of $201,809 per month or $2,421,703 per annum. The 2016/2017
budget has conservatively estimated the infrastructure charges revenue at $1,687,329.
A long term risk of LGIPs is the commitment ultimately made to provide future infrastructure at the
desired standards of service to meet development growth.
