Effluent Disposal
The existing duplex development was approved by Council in December 1993 (TPC 2566). As
the site was not within a sewerage service area, an onsite effluent disposal system was approved
which has serviced the development since the commencement of the use.
Council’s Plumbing and Building Section have advised that no records or information is available
regarding the nature of the existing system and its capacity to operate as intended. Moreover, the
application has not provided sufficient information or evidence to suggest that the existing
systems are operating at a reasonable standard and are wholly located within the lots they intend
to serve.
