MCU15/0095 & REC15/0022 PM Submission Object - Linda Suter
Subject: Service station planned at Eumundi Noosa Rd. : Attention Denis Wallace From: linda suter Date: 2015-12-03T03:48:36+00:00 To: Mailbox Council Mail Attn: Mr. Denis Wallace With regard to this development application in place, I vehemently oppose the planned service station for the obvious reason it is located immediately beside a school. I also would like to comment on the short time frame and convenient timing of the ‘notice of commencement’ form for the start of PN advertising at Eumundi Noosa Road, Noosaville which sees most parents of the 800 or so students in the school being unaware or uninformed due to the end/closure of school due to holiday time. I would urge you to reconsider this application as the voices of the parents and other sensible people in the community will be loud with regard to the opposition of this development. I would personally task you or the developers to find any school anywhere in Queensland that is sited next to a service station - as I would think that the rarity of this happening speaks clearly to the fact that there are obvious documented risks that we don’t want close to our children. With the obvious increase in vehicular traffic at this corner is there not a significant increased risk for the children? With the obvious pollution and airborne particles, not to mention occasional spills - is there not a significant increased risk? I am not sure if you have children or grandchildren - I don’t know you - but surely you would be concerned for your health and safety and that of your family’s if a service station were to be built immediately next to you? I am honestly stunned and completely surprised that this has gotten through council’s planning department to this stage. What are the developer’s thinking? - perhaps they are not. The land next to the school should not be zoned for any type of commercial enterprise such as a service station. The traffic patterns are already terribly congested there and this would only compound that very obvious problem. I wish my email to be noted and included in any correspondence you may have already received with regard to opposition of this proposed development. Regards, Linda Suter Development Permit for Material Change of Use of Premises & Development Permit to Reconfigure a Lot – Retail Business Type 2 (Shop), Type 5 (Service Station) & Reconfigure a Lot (1 Lot into 2 Lots)
