Appendix 5 - Air quality assessment report
fuel throughput adopted at a service station. Reference has been made to a methodology developed
by Brisbane City Council (BCC) for the assessment of service stations to determine diurnal profiles for
the service station. BCC recommends two methods of calculating the fuel dispensing throughput for
a service station:
⚫ Method 1 – If site data is available for total daily or weekly fuel sales:
⚫ Estimate daily petrol dispensing rate (preferably the peak rate not average)
⚫ Use the daily profile presented in Table 3.4 to apportion the amount of fuel dispensed
per hour
⚫ For sites that operate less than 24 hours, recalculate the daily profile for the hours of
operation (e.g. for operation from 6am to 9pm (15 hours, representing 83.4% of sales),
the hourly profile of 6.0% at 11 am gets re-calculated as 6.0/0.834 = 7.2%)
