PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 6 AUGUST 2019

6. CONCLUSION & REASONS FOR DECISION
The proposed development seeks a Development Permit for a Material Change of Use for
Multiple Housing Type 4 – Conventional (3 Units) at 217 & 219 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville. The
proposed use is consistent in the Visitor Mixed Use zone.
Despite not complying with a number of probable solutions of The Noosa Plan, the proposal
complies with the overall outcomes and specific outcomes of the Noosaville Locality Code. The
development provides for additional Multiple housing in an appropriate location. The
development is considered to be consistent with the bulk and scale of buildings within the locality,
maintaining the visual continuity and pattern of buildings along Gympie Terrace, and presenting a
high quality and interesting streetscape via a well articulated building with strong design
elements. The application is therefore recommend for approval subject to reasonable and
relevant conditions.
