PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 11 FEBRUARY 2020
These sites have been monitored for 14 years and have provided information on the ideal conditions
required to detect the key stream dependent frog species. This has become our guide for determining
survey timing for optimum use of resources. Over the years of surveying the same sites we have
collected a suite of facial photographs of the individual Giant barred frogs encountered. These have
been collated and are added to annually to determine if facial individuality occurs.

Plastic Pollution Marine & Land (plastic reductions, clean-ups)
Microplastics (reductions)
Single-use plastics (reusables, compostables)
Reductions to landfill (events, composting options, waste separation)
Reduced CO2 emissions (reusables, compostables)
The project overview and plan are detailed on the Plastic Free Noosa website at www.plasticfreenoosa.org.
5. Noosa Environmental Education Hub
Project title - Noosa Young Environmental Custodians Biodiversity Restoration Project
Brief project overview
Connecting Noosa schools in partnership with Environmental Groups to projects within the Noosa Biosphere
through rich, curriculum linked, grassroots opportunities. The programs deliver year by year involvement of
schools in biodiversity protection projects through hands on, in field delivery.
Full project description
The Noosa EEHub engenders our next generation of environmental custodians through rich curriculum
extension opportunities that are focussed on the environmental needs of our region. We deliver programs
that cause our young people to reflect and observe the ecosystems that support life in our region. Through
a detailed curriculum linked program that runs for a full term and includes assessment, we ensure that our
students understand in detail the natural environments that make up our Noosa Biosphere. They explore
how to protect and restore them and we culminate this learning in on the ground, real programs.
This grant application is requested to cover the on the ground components of NEW project delivery, this
includes the revegetation, establishment and grassroots biodiversity work completed by our students teams
in collaboration with local environmental groups.
The benefits are:
Increased awareness and understanding of our biodiversity, vulnerable species and the ecosystems
that support life.
Ownership and integration of environmental custodianship for the places we live.
Sense of pride and involvement for students as they explore solutions for their community.
Providing an opportunity for voice on environmental issues for our young people.
Increased involvement and interest in environmental matters.
