GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES                                             13 DECEMBER 2021


9   DRAFT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY 2021 - 2030
    Motion
    Moved:          Cr Stewart
    Seconded:       Cr Finzel
    That Council note the Draft report by the Economic Development Advisor to the General
    Committee Meeting dated 13 December 2021; and
    A.     Adopt the Draft Economic Development Strategy 2021-2030; and
    B.     Authorise the Chief Executive Officer to make any necessary amendments to the
           Economic Development Strategy in preparing and finalising the document for
           publication.

    That item B be amended to read as follows and item C be added to read as follows:
    B.   Council wish it noted that it disagrees with the statement - “Population growth is important
         to support economic growth in the local area.” within the review report, as the statement
         is contrary to the approach to economic development in Noosa for most of the last 40
         years and, is inconsistent with the thrust of the Noosa Economic Development Strategy”
    C.   Authorise the Chief Executive Officer to make any necessary minor amendments to the
         Economic Development Strategy in preparing and finalising the document for
         publication.
