Opportunity: Constraint: Opportunity: Constraint: Opportunity: Constraint: Opportunity: With a_ holistic Landscape Management Plan developed and implemented, funding gained from commercial bodies will directly be utilised for the on-going maintenance and upgrade of The Sound Park. Earth mounding and retaining walls adjacent to Quamby Place inhibit visual & physical access to approximately one third of the Park due to dense vegetation and grades creating a barrier. Re-grade or remove mounding to achieve better access and visual permeability. Access to the river / pontoon from the Park is very restricted - access only achieved via Ricky’s restaurant. Provide a better interface between the Park and the river with a more centralised pontoon for recreational and transportation uses. Bus stop - poor access through the Park to link with the ferry transport Provide a better connection / link of transport infrastructure services. Location - Pedestrian & Vehicular Constraint: Opportunity: Constraint: Opportunity: Poor visibility into the site from Noosa Parade - uninviting and reduces Park usage. Removal of earth mounding and improvement to Park amenities or installation of destination elements. The Sound Park’s close proximity to other neighbourhood parks Create a space which doesn’t compete with but compliments adjacent Parks and open spaces. Park Maintenance Constraint: Opportunity: Currently maintenance and upgrades to garden beds are carried out by business entities adjacent to Quamby Place, leading to minimal control over vegetation and material palettes. Formulate a Landscape Management Plan which is controlled and implemented by Council.
