3.0        Proposed Changes
3.1        Removal of Car Parking Space
The proposed Minor Change request relates to the removal of one (1) car parking space
located on the southern side of the existing courtyard, as shown on the Proposed Plan
(Attachment B). The removal of this car parking space is required to facilitate the
installation of a new fire pump, as required by the Queensland Fire Department (‘QFD’). The
new fire pump will be installed within the footprint of the existing car parking area. No
changes are proposed to any of the remaining car parking spaces on the site.
Refer to Figure 3-1 below for an extract of the proposed works.

Please refer to the plans contained with Attachment B for details around the location and
design of the new fire pump set.

3.2        Extension of the Currency Period
The Minor Change also includes a request to extend the currency period.
Pursuant to Section 275R of the Planning Act, the Planning Minister can declare an
applicable event thereby extending a currency period. The Planning Minister made three (3)
declarations associated with the COVID-19 emergency (‘COVID declaration’), extending
timeframes for undertaking approved development, on 8 July 2020, 1 September 2021, and
29 April 2022, respectively. The extended timeframes apply to approvals which are either in
effect, or came into effect, between the stated periods.
MCU19/0049 came into effect on 25 November 2019. As such, all three COVID declarations
apply, therefore extending the currency period of MCU19/0049 by two (2) years to 25
November 2027.
