EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Not applicable.

RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer to the Planning
& Organisation Committee Meeting dated 15 September 2015 and approve the Council meeting
dates for January – March 2016 as set out in Attachment 1 to the report.


REPORT
At the Post Election Meeting on 2 January 2014, Council adopted its Council meeting structure
incorporating three Standing Committees and an Ordinary meeting. At that time Council also
adopted and its meeting schedule for the 2014 year with meetings being held on a 4 weekly cycle.
At the Ordinary Meeting on 23 October 2014, Council adopted its meeting schedule for the 2015
calendar year agreeing to continue the 4 weekly cycle of meetings.

It is now timely to adopt a meeting schedule for 2016. Given the Local Government election is
being held on Saturday, 19 March 2016, the proposed schedule is for January – March 2016 only.
Following the declaration of the poll the incoming Council will determine its meeting structure and
schedule for the remainder of 2016.


Previous Council Consideration

The Council meeting structure and 2014 schedule was adopted at the Post Election meeting on
2 January 2014. The 2015 schedule was adopted at the Ordinary Meeting on 23 October 2014.
