PM Submission Support - Joshua Scanlon - MCU16/0153 & REC16/0041
24th April 2017 Noosa Shire Coundl 9 Pelican St TEWANTIN OLD 4565 The Assessment Manager RE 215 DAVID LOW WAY PEREGIAN BEACH MCU16/0153 and REC16/0041 I am in support of this development being approved for the following reasons: The subject site is the balance land which is currently vacant and has already has the Peregian Village Market occupying part of this land, therefore it is logical that the change of use be requested and further, there is already a current approval in place for accommodation, which is consistent with the use applied for The location, natural setting and surrounding uses have all been carefully considered in this development application and should be assessed on merit Tourism within the Noosa region is constantly under demand and the proposed motel and conference centre will provide a boutique offering not available in this local area and will enhance the Noosa tourism offer and capture a different tourism market to what is being seized at present. The use for this site as short stay accommodation will address the current demand for this type of accommodation not currently available in this local area The provision of beach houses, which are successful in achieving a varied and interesting range of dwellings, will address the current demand for affordable housing and are consistent with the surrounding uses The location of the buildings set back off David Low Way and behind the Peregian Village Market and Peregian Beach Hotel will provide only a limited visual impact and includes adequate landscaping to maintain the natural setting The car parking shown on the plans is in excess of what is required The ability for more people to stay and holidays, stay and conference or live in this ideal location, right in the heart of the Peregian Village precinct is a highly suitable outcome for this location The traders in the vicinity of this development will enjoy increased trade which will underpin the growth and sustainability of their businesses into the future The integrity of Peregian Beach will not be jeopardised by this development; it will be enhanced by the thoughtful design and low-key nature of the buildings and landscaping For the reasons above, I respectfully ask that Noosa Shire Council considers carefully the many benefits this development will bring to Peregian Beach and approve this application. Sincerely, Joshua Scanlon 46 California Boulevard PEREGIAN BEACH OLD 4573 39 .:3 0 g & --. - R: -- p RM r
