Inspection notes from today’s site visit at 17 Myall Street, Cooroy.

Tree protection zone (TPZ)and structural root zone (SRZ)measurements.
-Looking towards the property from Myall Street-

(TREE 1)-Silky Oak on the left side of driveway.
Trunk diameter measurement at 1.5 m from ground level -310mm
TPZ- 3.72 m
Trunk measurement taken above root flare- 380mm
SRZ- 2.20 m

(TREE 2)-Silky Oak on the right side of driveway.
Trunk diameter measurement at 1.5 m from ground level -380mm
TPZ- 4.56 m
Trunk measurement taken above root flare- 410mm
SRZ- 2.28 m

The current pathway alignment runs directly through the TPZ and SRZ of both trees.

It is possible for these trees to be retained if sustainable methodologies are considered at the time of
demolition and construction.

Sensitive earthworks techniques should be utilised within the TPZ and SRZ in order to remove the existing
concrete pathway avoiding damage to suspected surface roots beneath the pathway.

The consulting arborist should be engaged at this stage to identify any existing surface roots beneath the
existing pathway.

This species of tree would not respond well to the removal of large surface roots to accommodate for the
upgraded pathway.

A small percentage of smaller surface roots less than 50 mm in diameter can be clean cut and removed to
accommodate for the upgraded pathway.
If a mass of larger surface roots are found within the Proposed construction area these trees will require
removal.
