This grant program is not available to commercial businesses or enterprises, government
agencies, individuals, political organisations, education institutions, parental and friends or parents
and citizens associations, medical organisations or primary health care providers, kindergartens
or pre-schools or religious organisations.

2.      Eligible Projects
The Economic Development Grant looks to support projects that:
 Connect local businesses
 Encourage business innovation
 Build business capacity and skills
 Contribute to the ease of doing business
 Enable partnerships and collaboration within Noosa businesses and between organisations
 Attention a local workforce gap
 Position Noosa as a preferred business location/ grow the reputation of Noosa as a preferred
   business location

The funding cannot be used for:
 Programs, projects, services run for commercial profit
 Activities that have already commenced or will commence outside the project period
 Ongoing salaries for positions outside of the applicants project
 Activities that are considered part of the ongoing standard operations of the organisation such
   as rent, office costs, insurances, compliance costs, legal advice
 Retrospective funding
 Events that do not have a clearly identifiable benefit to the business community
 Projects that benefit a single business
 Projects that do not benefit the Noosa region
 Payment of debt
 Charitable fundraising
 Political activities
 Items funded by other Council grants

3.      Program Details

     Round 1
     Round opens:           9am Thurs 01 Sept, 2016
     Round closes:          12noon Wednesday 26 October, 2016
     Project period:        1 Jan, 2017 to 31 Dec, 2017
     Announce results:      Before 31 Dec, 2016
     Acquittal due:         Within 30 days of completing project


Applicants will make both a cash and in-kind contribution to the project. Council will not wholly
fund grant projects.
All applications will be assessed on a case by case basis and no minimum or maximum amount
per application will apply.
