The cost of this insurance will be identified and funded through the Community Grants Program as
it forms part of Councils support to community organisations.
Council may require community groups covered by this scheme to meet excess charges in the event
of any claim.

Program as it forms part of Council’s support to community organisations.
9. Economic Development Grant Program
Applications for the Economic Development Grant Program will be accepted once per year. It is
mandatory that projects help to achieve the objectives of the Noosa Local Economic Plan and
successful applications will be decided in a competitive assessment process based on:
e The extent to which the actions address key findings, weaknesses and/or threats, or target the
opportunities identified in the Local Economic Plan
e The scale of the economic impact likely to be achieved (e.g. creating the conditions for business
success, industry or business development, investment attraction)
e The level of innovation, insight or creative thinking that makes the project unique
e The quality of the application (e.g. a well-developed, clear and realistic action plan, supported by
research where appropriate and include an accurate financial plan/budget)
Council may determine priority funding areas on a year to year basis and these priorities will be
identified in the Economic Development Grant Guidelines.
Economic Development Grant projects could for example:
e Connect local businesses
e Encourage business innovation
e Build business capacity and skills
e Contribute to the ease of doing business
e Enable partnerships and collaboration between businesses and/or organisations in the Noosa
region
e Address a local workforce gap
e Assist to grow the reputation of Noosa as a preferred business location.
Projects that are ineligible for funding are detailed in the Economic Development Grant Program
Guidelines.
