EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Not applicable.

RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Property Manager to the Services & Organisation Committee
Meeting dated 8 May 2018 and approve the issuing of Temporary Event Permits for the events
detailed in Attachment 1 to the report.


REPORT
On 18 August 2017, a new funding agreement (the Agreement) was finalised between Tourism
Noosa and Council that addressed funding arrangements, strategy and planning requirements
and the responsibilities of both parties in relation to managing events. The Agreement notes that
Tourism Noosa must provide to Council by 31 July each year, a list of events Tourism Noosa
intends to provide conditional funding for and that it will promote. Tourism Noosa must also
ensure as a condition of any grant funding provided that the event organiser obtain a permit from
Council. The final determination regarding permit approval rests with Council.

Property Branch representatives meet with Tourism Noosa on a two monthly basis. At the 10 th
April 2018 meeting, Tourism Noosa provided a list of events proposed for conditional funding and
promotion for the 2018-2019 financial year (see Attachment 1). Council officers have no objection
to the issuing of Temporary Event Permits for each event listed in Attachment 1. Each event will
be managed by an appropriate suite of permit conditions.

Accordingly, this report seeks Council approval to issue Temporary Event Permits for each event
listed in Attachment 1.

Nil.

Finance
A review of the fee structure for all event application fees will be undertaken as part of the
2018/19 budget process.

Risks & Opportunities
Approval of the listed events allows Tourism Noosa and event organisers to undertake and
finalise event programs, marketing and planning. Event debriefings will be undertaken with
Tourism Noosa and event organisers as required and issues of significance pertaining to
particular events and their impact will be subject to further discussion with Council.
