3.2 Proposed Works
The overall proposal is to improve the public carparking on the site and to provide for future
parking for other adjacent community uses to the south of Cooroy Creek i.e. the library and the
proposed new Cooroy Hinterland Playground. The works involve:
Constructing 30 new carparks and access road in an area of informal carparking
(gravel and grassed area) during events in the area (on Lot 7),
Formalising existing sealed/gravelled areas into 22 new carparks (on Lot 5),
Retaining and shaping of existing turfed swale drain (on Lot 5),
Construction of two new grass swales to divert new carpark flows to the existing
biobasin (on Lot 7),
Sealing existing gravel driveway areas to a concrete driveway standard,
New sections of concrete pathway adjacent to the new carparks and connecting to
existing pathways;
Associated landscaping.
As a result of these works, new stormwater drainage and surface drainage treatment devices
are required. These new drainage systems are required to conform to Council’s Water Sensitive
Design Code and meet the Stormwater Management Design Objectives for stormwater quality
of the State Planning Policy. The existing biobasins will be refurbished and two new grass
swales will be constructed.
Refer to Plan 2001-01 which shows the stormwater quality management layout proposed for the
site.
