Most of Noosa’s main attractions were cited as areas the respondents were likely to visit
during their stay, with Hastings Street and Noosa National Park being the top two areas (69
percent and 58 percent of all respondents indicated that they were visiting these areas
during their stay). Other popular areas included Noosaville, Noosa Junction, Sunshine Beach
and Eumundi. A smaller proportion indicated that they were going to Noosa’s Hinterland or
other relatively local destinations. These results did not statistically differ between any
major visitor characteristic.

Approximately 67 percent of all visitors surveyed indicated that they travelled to Noosa by
car – either as a driver of their own car, or driver as a hired car, or as a passenger in a car.
Approximately 15 percent utilised public transport and 13 percent walked. As might be
expected, local, regional and Queensland residents were more likely to drive, and interstate
and international visitors were more likely to catch public transport and walk.
