w= the Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme (2014), which requires a car parking provision for retail
development at the rate of one space per 20m? GFA
== —_—-we understand that the previous Noosa Shire Council typically accepted parking provision for
retail developments at a rate of 5.2 spaces per 100m’ GFA
m= TTM and PTT data on parking demand from 13 retail developments (of varying sizes) in
Queensland which indicate that the peak parking demand for a 1,266m? GFA development would
be in the order of 5.1 spaces per 100m? (data included at Appendix D)
Table 3.1 sets out the parking standards described above and the associated number of spaces to be
provided under each.

TTM / PTT Retail Data 5.1 spaces per 100m? GFA 70
Total 69 - 72 spaces
Table 3.1 demonstrates that all the parking rates are similar, falling into the 69 — 72 space range.
3.3.2 Provision
It is proposed to provide a total of 74 on-site car parking spaces, including two person with disability
(PWD) bays. In addition, eight motorcycle spaces are proposed, which is consistent with the number of
spaces required by Noosa Planning Scheme Policy 26 - Motorcycle and Motor Scooter Parking (ie one
space per 10 car parking spaces).
The above results in a total parking provision of 76 on-site spaces (based on an equivalence of four
motorcycle bays per car parking space). The total proposed parking provision is four spaces in excess of
that required under the Noosa Plan. It is also higher than the requirements of the Sunshine Coast
Planning Scheme and peak parking demand based on surveyed data.
