2.2 Access

The subject site currently has multiple driveway crossovers on both Garnet Street and Wimmers Lane, as

shown in Figure 2.1.

2.3. Road Network

With the exception of the initial 25m east of the intersection with Wattle Street, Wimmers Lane is
approximately 4m wide along its entire length and operates as a one-lane, two way street. Wimmers Lane
provides access to the parking and service areas for a small number of retail and commercial premises

fronting Garnet Street and Emerald Street.

There is no posted speed limit on Wimmers Lane. However, based on its length and carriageway width,

vehicle speeds are likely to be in the order of 20km/hr.

To the west of the site is Elm Street, which is part of the state controlled road network, administered by
the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR). A short distance to the west of the rail

overbridge, Elm Street meets Myall Street at a priority-controlled intersection.
