PEREGIAN BEACH SURF LIFESAVING CLUB - FUNDING REQUEST AND UPDATE ON OPERATIONS · Attachment 1 - PBSLSC 2023-2024 Annual Report
PRESIDENT’S REPORT Two years ago, our club was reestablished and registered with Queensland Office of Fair Trading and affiliated with Sunshine Coast Branch SLS, Queensland SLS and Australia SLS as its own legal entity of a surf lifesaving club. I acknowledge the significant contribution that the Noosa Heads SLS club gave for several seasons and the efforts of the working group in planning for the club to be able to relaunch and have the foundation to have a long-term future. The initial plan for the last two seasons has been simple basics. Focus on patrolling the beach well, have a good nipper program and be financially prudent, which we have continued to achieve. Maintaining these three points will always be important governance issues for the future. We now are aiming to build on this success through increasing our membership and improving the club facility. We have started a plan to increase membership for the whole club, from juniors, associate members and active patrolling members from the local community. On the club facility a master plan has been created. The improvements will enhance the existing building through staged works. In July we are planning to renovate the upstairs kitchen to improve the income from venue hire and for our members to enjoy social events for the lifesaving club. Thanks to all the members of the lifesaving board who as volunteers have given of their time in the belief that a lifesaving service at Peregian Beach is important. To all the members of the supporters’ committee, your management of the markets and events throughout the year is the financial backbone of the club, thank you. I look forward to seeing the club continue its improvement in the upcoming seasons. Yours in Lifesaving. John Roderick President Peregian Beach Surf Lifesaving Club 2023-2024 Annual Report 6
