area.

2.5 Groundwater
Ground water or springs was not encountered during excavations.
There was no evidence of significant seepage or groundwater emanating from the rock
faces of the existing cut embankment.
2.6 Surface Drainage
Surface drainage is typically good due to the natural slopes.
Surface water traversing the site is minimal as the slopes or the crest of the broad ridge line
sheds water away from the site.
2.7 Vegetation
The site is well grassed. There are no trees on/near the site.
2.8 Buildings, other structures
There were no buildings or structures on the site at the time of the investigation.
3.0 ASSESSMENT OF LAND STABILITY
3.1 Existing Conditions
No evidence of recent or historic slope instability was observed across the site during the
investigation.
Trees were vertical, no irregular surfaces or landslip backscarps were noted. Weathered
rock was intersected at relatively shallow depth across the site.
Weathered rock is evident in the faces of the existing cut embankments which were
generally >1V :1H. The rock face in the cut embankments appeared to be generally sound
with no collapse or failure of the rock surface.
