Re
Proposed
Development
MCU
12/0326
The
Assessment
Manager
Attention:
Marcus
Brennan
Dear
Mr.
Brennan,
I
have
already
briefly
emailed
you
regarding
my
concerns
over
this
proposed
change
of
usage,
however
I
wish
to
draw
to
your
attention
to
more
of
my
concerns
regarding
this
proposal.
I
have
already
stated
the
fact
that
through
devious
means
I
feel
this
Company
has
deliberately
ensured
the
least
amount
of
time
possible
for
public
opinion.
The
signage
on
the
Brickworks
was
not
in
view
from
the
16
th
April.
However
I
will
list
some
of
my
other
concerns.
Noise.
This
venture
will
not
directly
effect
me
however
before
the
brickworks
closed
CSR
must
have
been
using
a
quarry
further
North
on
Lake
Macdonald
Drive.
We
had
clay
trucks
speeding
and
thundering
past
our
house
on
the
hour
and
I
can’t
begin
to
describe
how
horrendous
the
noise
level
was.
Conversation
was
impossible
as
was
listening
to
television
or
radio.
It
would
have
been
impossible
for
a
shift
worker
to
sleep.
Noise
level
unacceptable.
Timetable.
It
was
stated
in
the
development
application
that
the
hours
of
operation
will
be
6am
until
6pm
Monday
to
Friday.
7am
until
3pm
Saturday.
There
will
be
50
trips
a
day.
I
assume
that’s
50
out
and
50
back.
Why
is
it
that
this
company
can
get
away
with
what
will
be
an
unacceptable
noise
level
so
early
in
the
morning
till
late
at
night
and
on
Saturdays?
Safety.
In
development
application
document
it
is
stated
Lake
Macdonald
Drive
is
not
used
for
pedestrians
or
cyclists.
This
is
simply
not
true.
Every
Friday
there
is
a
group
of
professional
cyclist
on
this
road.
There
are
cyclists
who
ride
to
work
and
occasional
tourists
on
bikes.
Regularly
I
see
runners
including
my
daughter
who
runs
down
to
Kauri
Street
and
back.
I
already
feel
this
road
is
not
safe.

Attention: Marcus Brennan
Dear Mr. Brennan,
I have already briefly emailed you regarding my concerns over this proposed

concerns regarding this proposal.
I have already stated the fact that through devious means I feel this Company has

Noise. This venture will not directly effect me however before the
brickworks closed CSR must have been using a quarry further North on
Lake Macdonald Drive. We had clay trucks speeding and thundering past
our house on the hour and I can’t begin to describe how horrendous the
noise level was. Conversation was impossible as was listening to
television or radio. It would have been impossible for a shift worker to

Timetable. It was stated in the development application that the hours of
operation will be 6am until 6pm Monday to Friday. 7am until 3pm
Saturday. There will be 50 trips a day. I assume that’s 50 out and 50 back.
Why is it that this company can get away with what will be an
unacceptable noise level so early in the morning till late at night and on
Saturdays?
Safety. In development application document it is stated
Lake Macdonald Drive is not used for pedestrians or cyclists. This is
simply not true. Every Friday there is a group of professional cyclist on
this road. There are cyclists who ride to work and occasional tourists on
bikes. Regularly I see runners including my daughter who runs down to
Kauri Street and back. I already feel this road is not safe.

Already this road is under stress with constant potholes. To adda
constant stream of clay trucks for two years needs careful consideration.
I implore council to re consider this application.
