Details of Submission I (We), make the following submission: We Support the proposed extention to Noosa Civic, it is about time, way overdue. Lets have more shopping choice. Reasons for our support are as follows: Support local business and not have to travel to Marroochydire or Brisbane to find decent shops; Introduce competition to exisiting overpriced stores; Not everyone can afford to shop at high end stores in Noosa, Hastings street etc. More affordable stores for all ages. Don’t forget this is a high retirement area; Include stores for all ages, gender and sizes. Eg Taking Shape or Autograph etc for plus size women and larger men; Stop spreading the stores out, make the extension an attachment to the exisiting structure and make it userfriendly for all aged people to access. Think about the weather and the tourists and have it all enclosed under one roof. The distance in the rain/bad weather from top end (BCF, post office etc) to the main part of Noosa Civic is ridiculous. Should have a fully covered walk way access. Was very poorly designed and both building should have been attached. Have you heard of 2 stories and escalactors....wake up Noosa get with the times. Go to Maroochydore and take it in. That is where most Noosa residents go to shop for variety and convenience. There are to many small complexes and spread out shopping centres in Noosa. Those people objecting to the proposed extension, we believe, are those businesses that cater for the high end of town eg Hastings street and Noosa Junction. Maybe they need a shake up and realise that not everyone can afford to shop there with their ridiculously high price tags. How much easier would it be to park and access all the shops rather than currently having to drive from one centre to another. Very inconvenient currently to get to the different shops, having to drive everwhere and a burden on car use and the environment.
