Property Address - Noosa Civic 28 Eenie Creek Rd NOOSAVILLE QLD 4566 Lot 3 SP 246584 Applicant: J & G Knowles & Associates Pty Ltd Dear Assessment Manager, Executive Summary We write this submission to formalise our objection to the abovementioned development application on the following grounds: The proposal is inconsistent with the Noosa Planning Scheme and fails to provide evidence of an overriding need for the development in the public interest; Should it proceed, the development would destroy habitat in an area zoned as Open Space, Conservation and Environment and therefore conflicts with the Noosa Plan’s 3.1.3 Desired Environmental Outcomes ; and The proposal would remove Koala Habitat Area on land designated for Environmental Enhancement. See: Noosaville Biodiversity Overlay (Map OM8.1- Plate 3) We therefore request Noosa Council recommend refusal of MCU16/0081 due to: 1. Environmentally Significant Habitat The proposal for 90 residential units would destroy significant vegetation on the site. We note the following tree habitats will be adversely impacted by the development: Tall open forest often with Eucalyptus resinifera, E. grandis, E. robusta, Corymbia intermedia on sedimentary rocks. Closed heathland on seasonally waterlogged alluvial plains usually near coast Melaleuca quinquenervia open forest on coastal alluvium Eucalyptus racemosa subsp. racemosa woodland on remnant Tertiary surfaces These species and habitats are described in the Vegetation Management Act with importance categorised from Of Concern, Least concern, to Endangered.
