Resort Complex and Shop.
3 and 7 Serenity Close, Noosa Heads
Application No. 132008.176.05

I am a Noosa business owner and resident, writing to wholeheartedly express my support for Application No. 132008.176.05, which seeks to change the existing resort approval on the land in Serenity Close. I have closely reviewed the application and wish to outline the my reasons for my endorsement.

The proposed changes align the development seamlessly with the Noosa Plan 2020, which designates the land for tourism purposes, specifically as a resort. This use fills a significant gap in our hospitality offerings by introducing a 5-star resort, catering to high-end tourism and bolstering our local economy.

From a planning standpoint, this application resonates with prudent land use principles. It not only promises economic opportunities but also showcases a genuine commitment to preserving green spaces and vegetation, surpassing the benchmarks set by the current approval.

Crucially, the proposed resort holds potential for community engagement through its on-site amenities, catering not only to hospitality needs but also offering space for external activities to occur.

Access challenges are acknowledged, but the development aligns with long-standing area development plans. Notably, the application takes into account parking concerns, featuring a substantial on-site parking facility to alleviate potential street congestion.

Architecturally, the proposed design seamlessly integrates with the surrounding environment. The layout strives to preserves existing vegetation, features diverse building materials and introduces shading elements over walkways, contributing to Noosa style of indoor outdoor use areas.

In conclusion, the proposed changes signify a substantial improvement over the existing approval. Given these reasons, I kindly urge the Council to consider approving this change application, which holds great promise for our community and its progress.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Iain Kippen
