We are opposed to the above development proposed
the~
in our road. We believe
pollution from this business will have a detrimental effect on the environment. The creek in
the state forest is already degraded from the large orchard on this land and this creek
supposedly flows into the Mary River, so this proposal will pollute it even more.
We have spoken to other people that have had similar a chicken business start up near
them and all have mentionep the terrible smell that circulates for large distance from the
sheds. In this case the manure is going to be used around the surrounding orchard, which will
add to the potential for increased odour.
The road is quite narrow in many places with steep embankments on one side. It has
never been suitable for large trucks and we have witnessed many accidents on this road.
We have lived here for 30 years and came here because there was no industry and
because it was such a beautiful area. Tourists come up here to the hinterland because it is
beautiful (it’s not all about Noosa). Are we going to preserve this beauty or destroy it?
Thank you for considering all this. Yours faithfully,
c/~~
Lyn and Kevin Nowland
