Assessment Manager, Noosa Council
Re: MCU15/0095 - 115 Eumundi Road Noosaville
Dear the Assessment Manager,
The Noosa Parks Association (NPA) is Noosa’s premier environmental organisation, which provides a voice
for the people of Noosa Shire about protecting Noosa’s environmental, economic, social and cultural
sustainability.
We make this submission to urge Council to reject the application to build a service station and shop at 115
Eumundi Noosa Road.
In particular the NPA is concerned the proposal disregards the requisite obligations to:
Maintain the safety of people, specifically children
Avoid significant adverse impacts on the amenity enjoyed by users of other premises, specifically
children, including acoustics, health and well being
Avoid significant adverse effects on the natural environment
Avoid significant adverse impacts on and compromises to the amenity enjoyed by the users of
other premises in the adjoining community services, housing and open-space recreations zones.
The NPA supports the Good Shepherd College parents’ submission that:
The proposed use is an inappropriate and unreasonable form of development within the area in which
it is to be located.
The proposed service station and shop development has, as a significant component, a use which is
an inconsistent use for the zone and inappropriate in all of the circumstances.
The proposed development is of a type, scale and intensity that is inconsistent with any reasonably
anticipated development on this property.
The proposed development is not compatible with the existing and proposed amenity and
development of the immediate neighbourhood consisting of community services, housing and open-
space recreations zones.
It has the likely impact of increasing traffic in the area.
As Council has already approved a service station at 139 Eumundi Noosa Road, there is no rationale for
introducing another with further impacts.
In conclusion, the NPA urges Council to reject the proposal.
Ingrid Jackson
Honorary Secretary, Noosa Parks Association
