Short description Detailed description
Regrowth Syncarpia The community is characterised by Syncarpia glomulifera as a prominent canopy element. Other
glomulifera, Eucalyptus species present and varying in dominance across the Study Area are Eucalyptus resinifera, E.
resinifera, E. grandis & grandis & Corymbia intermedia. The subcanopy is often dominated by young canopy elements,
Corymbia intermedia but also support other species such as Alphitonia excelsa, Melaleuca saligna or rainforest species
forest such as Cryptocarya glaucescens. The shrub layer is often utterly chocked with Platylobium
formosum and other dense growth. While there are several ground layer species present
Entolasia stricta is found throughout the study area.
Areas to the north of Walter Hay Drive lack much of the diversity found in the broader patch to the
south and is dominated by Alphitonia excelsa and Allocasuarina littoralis.
Despite its height, the community is consistently below the 70% height threshold of the reference
community. Broadly scattered amongst the regrowth are residual large trees retained when the
                                   property was originally cleared.
The community is allied with regional ecosystem 12.9-10.1.

Uncleared Syncarpia As above.

Areas of regrowth of ‘Melaleuca quinquenervia and Eucalyptus robusta forest’ in the south of the Study Area
support several depressions (Plate 4) around which dense stands of Baloskion tetraphyllum, typically a
species of swampy ground, occurs. An area adjacent to the existing truck access in the south west of the
Study Area supports an analogous community including swampy depressions.

                         species

4.1.2 Floristics
Appendix M lists all species recorded during the assessment.
State significant species are defined as those listed as Endangered, Vulnerable or Near Threatened under
the NCA. Species identified as Known, Likely or Possible in Table 1-2 were targeted during field surveys.
Despite targeted surveys no species of State significance were located during the assessment.
