Re Application by Calile: I have very little objection to the Calile Hotel development, in fact it will be an asset to Noosa, however the access via Grant Street is most unacceptable. The traffic report was done during various times in July last year - hardly a peak time in Noosa. You will be aware of the serious congestion problems during peak, weekend and especially holiday times around Noosa Junction. There is no footpath along Grant Street making it very dangerous for pedestrians, pushchairs and anyone with a mobility device or wheelchair - hardly acceptable for a 5 star resort. Surely it would be more practical to open up Banksia Street from Coral Tree Avenue roundabout - this would then ease the pressure on Grant street. Emergency and service vehicles may well struggle to get through Grant Street if there are any service vehicle already parked in the street. The other concern is Serenity Close being a resident there. Are you going to restrict parking on the hotel side of the road? On occasion it is already dangerous for people to pull out of their driveways, with a pedestrian entrance being granted from Serenity Close this may well encourage parking along the road from visitors and staff. We would hope the 6 metre setback and tree retention is carefully monitored by Council and severe penalties are given should this be breached. Sincerely, Alexa Parker 18/8 Serenity Close Noosa Heads Mob 044 702 7691
