FIGURE 9: Southern Construction Area - remnant/regrowth sclerophyll forest
E) Eastern Construction Area
The construction footprint for the new meditation centre in the east of the site is composed of
mowed grasses. There is no requirement for clearing of additional native vegetation in this area.
3.2.2 Vegetation within 100 metre buffer
Three timed meanders were undertaken through the 100 metre buffer zone traversing three
remnant ecosystem types on the Vipassana Centre allotment and one neighbouring private
allotment (Lot 2 on RP35094):
i. Least concern RE 12.3.2 - Eucalyptus grandis tall open forest on alluvial plains
ii. Least concern RE 12.9-10.7 - Eucalyptus acmenoides, E. major, E. siderophloia +/-
Corymbia citriodora subsp. variegata woodland on sedimentary rocks
iii. Endangered RE 12.3.1 - Gallery rainforest (notophyll vine forest) on alluvial plains
The location of the timed meander flora surveys is shown in Figure 2. No EVNT flora species
were recorded. The results of timed meander surveys are summarised in Table 3.
