Several additional areas are currently lying fallow following the removal of the mango trees; these areas are terraced with irrigation in place and the intention is to bring these areas into production. It is estimated that 3,000 additional trees will be planted in these areas. The applicant has not commenced this planting due to the assessment of this application. The areas lying fallow to be planted are shown on the attached aerial photo of the site. Traffic Concerns The issues have been addressed in the Traffic Management Plan prepared by Hayes Traffic Engineering. The report concludes that the traffic generated is insignificant and proposed several Upgrade Works to Top Forestry Road to address safety issues. Waste Management The issues are addressed in the information supplied by Myriad International and the Stormwater Treatment and Water Quality Management Plan. The reports state the amount of compost produced will not be sufficient to supply the current orchard of its fertiliser needs. Water Quality The Stormwater Treatment and Water Quality Management Plan concludes that the production and use of the compost can be carried out without impact upon the water quality of Blackfellow Creek or the Mary River. It is noted that the Queensland State Government has recently (31° August, 2013) sold land located adjacent to the Mary River for the development of a similar Poultry Farm. Odour The report prepared by MWA Environmental addresses the impact upon adjoining properties with respect to the poultry operation and composting of the waste. The report concludes that the impact upon the adjoining properties is below the required thresholds and includes setback requirements to lessen any impacts. It is noted that the closet residence to the poultry operation is approximately 850 metres. Please note that this submission completes our response to your Information Request. | thank you for your consideration in this matter. Yours faithfully Jha Max Watterson
