Objection to rezoning Nursery site 9th February 2011
Attached to the e-mail MCU10/2083 Notice of Submission Marj Wadmore.
9th February 2011 Assessment Manager, Sunshine Coast Regional Council Locked Bag 72 Sunshine coast Mail Centre Qld 4560 Objection to Planning Application MCU10/2083 Dear Sir/Madam, I wish to voice objection to the above planning application. Residents in the area already have many and various shops within walking distance. The Village Shopping Centre which has large and small retailers including Woolworths, a Chemist, Butcher, Baker, Restaurants, Newsagent, Bank, wine outlets, jeweller, fashion shops for men and women, Reject Shop etc. McDonalds is diagonally across from the Nursery site with many shops located behind. There are many restaurants and shops on Thomas Street including – Indian, Italian, Red Rooster, Nosh It, Dominos Pizza, Zachary’s pizza and many more with a smorgasbord of restaurants and shops in Gympie Terrace. As there are already empty shops any extra shops would not only take business away from these traders, particularly the smaller businesses, but create hardship and possible loss of jobs. The problems associated with all night trading e.g. will be increased traffic, noise and rubbish. We already have all night trading at McDonalds and late night trading at Villa Noosa. Skipper Parade is the only entrance and exit onto Gibson Road on this particular estate part of Noosa Waters and entrance to proposed new shops via Skipper Parade would cause major traffic problems. I feel that we do not need extra shops in this area or the problems it would create and strongly object to Planning Application MCU10/2083. Yours faithfully Marj Wadmore 2/13 Sunseeker Close Noosaville 4566
