To whom it may concern, In a time where koalas have been declared endangered this RACV development application should be rejected. This weed infested habitat will need a lot of funding to clear up. Should this MCU application be approved the developer should fully fund weed eradication at this location, facilitating natural regeneration. If Noosa Council and the mayor insist that this tourist development has to go ahead the least that could be done would be a painted sign on each side of the roads asking motorists to slow down and be aware of koalas . If you approve this development, Council and the developer needs to provide monetary yearly ongoing contributions to direct wildlife rescue organisations in Noosa that will be directly impacted by this development. Volunteer Wildlife rescue groups will be left to rescue the wildlife in this area that will be displaced and get injured, come into contact with dogs and cats, hit by cars and face more disease because of ongoing habitat loss. This constant clearly of wildlife habitat puts a significant strain on volunteer wildlife rescue who make themselves available 24/7 to help wildlife that need rescuing because of injuries, illness and diseases all related to habitat loss. If the last holidays were anything to go by and all the tourists on Noosa main beach, I strongly believe that there are enough tourist in Noosa already,, why do we need more tourist accommodation development In the heart of Noosa. Our wildlife and environment will suffer because adults in council make decisions that us kids have to live with once you are gone. It’s not fare to future generations how you adults make all the decisions about our environment while contributing to the decline in Koalas in Qld. Koalas are endangered, to me as a kid that means we need to protect them, not try to destroy them by destroying their homes. I want my kids and my kids kids to be able to see Koalas in Noosa. People come to noosa for the natural beauty and you are destroying what people come to see, wildlife, koalas, nature. I reject this development application MCU22/0118 as it contributes to climate change, the decline in endangered koalas and other wildlife, it puts more pressure on Noosa’s wildlife rescue organisations, it causes eco anxiety amongst our community and is not in the best interest of local Noosa residents. This development will only benefit a huge company while destroying our local wildlife. This development will also impact the Noosa River System, will unintentionally bring more human rubbish (again impacting wildlife further) it will impact the mangrove ecosystems that boarder the development and will bring more traffic to this sensitive Koala habitat area in Noosa. I would like to know, when is enough tourist accommodation enough? My future is in the hands of “leaders” in my community and I choose wildlife and Koalas over more tourist development. As kids, our voices should matter and we should feel included in these important decisions that have a big impact on our environment. I reject this development and hope Noosa Council rejects it too for the sake of our wildlife and our Endangered Koalas. From Jarrah Small 5 Poinciana Ave Tewantin Qld 0412 683583
